Have you been to Ireland before? For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to go to Ireland. Honestly, I would be up for living up there too not just going on vacation. I am of Irish descent on both sides of my family tree.Galway-Lynchs-Castle

I love all the old history that is still in Ireland. The castles are amazing. My mothers side of the family, the Lynch’s, even has a castle in Ireland. Though it has now been turned into a bank. It is located in Galway, Ireland. I included an older photo I found and also a newer photo of the castle.

The Castle was bought by Allied Irish Banks in 1930. They then proceeded to restore the castle to its original glory. It used to be home to the most powerful family in Galway. This building represents the old and the new in Ireland today. The old building yet the new modern use from the bank aspect. I also wanted to include the Lynch’s family coat of arms.

Honestly if I could go back in time I would love to go back and meet my ancestor and experience life how it was back then. I am a huge history fan. Are any of you of Irish descent? If so, what is the Surname of your ancestors?

I got the opportunity to study in Ireland when I was in college. It truly is a beautiful country, I wish I could go back. That’s actually how I started blogging. I’ve always had a great interest in the Irish culture, I believe its because I’m Irish on both sides as well. I’m a Murphy on my Mother’s side and a Campbell on my Fathers.

I forgot how much it was when I went (I didn’t pay for it because I was like 14.) But me and my mom looked it up a few weeks ago and I think it’s around 3,000ish…

I very much enjoyed my trip to Ireland (both parts) and grew in understanding of The Troubles and the consequences. I very much enjoyed the bogmen and hordes of gold.

Never heard of bogmen and horses of gold. That sounds interesting.
