Who remembers the disposable cameras? I do, I used them all the time growing up. That is where my love for photography started. I would take photos of everything. I never thought of the details though. I just snapped a photo. When I was in last year of High School that was when I realized that I wanted to make more of my photos. I wanted to keep growing and learning to get better.
After switching to a compact digital camera this is where I started:
I used the Auto mode on the camera. I thought it would make the photos look better then anything I could do. I was frustrated how a lot of them didn’t come out looking the way I wanted them too. After awhile I got a little better, at least I think.
Then I decided I wanted to take my photos to the next level. So, I upgraded my camera. I got a Fuji camera. It was a bridge camera, had some features of a DSLR but was still a simple digital you could use on auto as well.
I started using manual mode more and experimenting more! I was loving it. After a year or so with that camera I was ready to upgrade to a full DSLR camera. After much researched I jumped into the Canon world!
I never put my camera into auto mode anymore. I am strictly a manual mode girl now! None of the photos below are edited. They are straight out of camera.
Now I get to pick the shutter speed, the aperture, the ISO and more! Having more control over everything helps my photos come out exactly how I imagined them to be. I know that I still have a lot of learning to do but I am proud of how far I have come. I can’t wait to see what 2016 brings to my photography!
